Questions to ask yourself:
Privacy Fence Materials
Chain link fencing offers little to no privacy. You could incorporate the slats to add additional privacy. It works great for scenic backyards that you want to be able to retain the natural landscape but still keep your pets and children in the yard. The downfall of chain link is that it is not as "pretty" as some of the other fences, it's more function over form.
Life Span of a Chain Link Fence
How long does a fence last?
Chain link fence is a great option for those that want a long-lasting fence with little to no maintenance in the long run. Expect 30+ years of life from your new chain link fence installation. If you opt for a black vinyl-wrapped chain link fence, expect the vinyl to start to deteriorate after about 20 years, but the galvanized chain link material underneath to remain in tact for many more years to come.
Chain Link Fence Maintenance
Chain link fencing requires little to no maintenance for it's entire life. Chain link fencing has a few color options that are readily available. The most common is galvanized chain link(silver color), then black chain link. Then you get into the special order colors which have a longer lead time such as brown and green.
There are not many styles of chain link fencing. The only variable you really get is the height and the gauge of the mesh fabric material.
